World Cup Qualifiers Previews – Nations that have the edge to qualify on Tuesday

imagesWith the intensive struggles for a slot in the world cup that would be held in Brazil, halftime tables  those teams that has the edge and those that have missed out in the 2014 World Cup Tournament.

The qualification campaign for the 2014 World Cup nearing its decisive stages, a number of teams will be looking to book their ticket for next year’s tournament on Tuesday. While some has a guaranteed slots, others such as African Nations has to depend on a decisive play off to determine there faith.

Hosts Brazil have already been joined by Asian representatives Japan, Australia, Iran and South Korea, while a number of nations from Europe, North America and South America can also seal qualification this week.

In Europe; Group B: Italy will take on Czech Republic today and a win would see them through to the finals. In Group C: A win for Germany will see then through to the finals. In Group D:  a win for  Netherlands against Andorra while a draw between Romania and Turkey today would  give the Netherlands an automatic ticket to Brazil.

In South America, both Argentina and Colombia can wrap up qualification on Tuesday if all results go their way. For the Colombians, a win or a draw against Uruguay will be enough to guarantee qualification for next summer’s tournament. Alejandro Sabella’s side, meanwhile, will be guaranteed a spot at the World Cup if they beat Paraguay, while a draw and no win by Uruguay would also be enough. Even a loss against the Paraguayans could see them through, assuming Uruguay also lose their encounter versus Colombia.

Costa Rica can become the first Concacaf representative to book their ticket for next year’s showpiece. They will have to beat Jamaica to achieve that, though, while Mexico must drop points away to USA or Honduras lose against Panama. Even a draw could be enough for Costa Rica, but only if Mexico lose and Panama spill points, too.

Moreover, USA can also claim a spot at the World Cup if they win Mexico and Honduras beats Panama.
