Villas-Boas ridicules sack rumours- i have the board's support

vgTottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has condemn reports saying he is set to be axed by the club. He also insists that he has the full support of the board.

On Sunday,Spurs suffered a 6-0 loss at the hands of Manchester City  – their worst defeat since the 7-1 loss in 1996 against Newcastle back .

The result, which Villas-Boas described as “embarrassing”, made it three games without a win for the north Londoners and although reports have suggested the Portuguese coach is close to the chop, he is reluctant that he still has the board’s support.

“I have the confidence of the board,” he said prior to his side’s Europa League clash with Tromso on Thursday. “I have the confidence of my players and I have to move on to do a proper job.

“The only conversation had [with the board] recently was two or three days ago. The board is of the same opinion that everything went wrong and we hope to get some response in the future.

“It was an ordinary meeting. We only spoke very briefly about the game.

Questioned  concerning matters that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy had not yet declare publicly his support for the under-fire former Chelsea manager, Villas-Boas insisted he had no worries over the public silence.

“That’s not his style, and neither do I ask for things like that,” he added. “I am immune [to criticism] right now. I used to read a lot into situations like this, into pressure points when I was at Chelsea, but not anymore.

“I am very indifferent. There is only one area that I come under pressure from, which is the press.”
