The 32-year-old striker played under the Portuguese manager at Inter Milan, where they won the won the Serie A, the Coppa Italia, the Supercoppa Italiana and the Champions League trophy and is on the verge of leaving his current club, Anzhi Makhachakala, with a number of clubs interested in his services.
The Cameroonian is especially keen on working with the former Real Madrid manager.
“There is only one Jose Mourinho. I have played under a lot of great coaches – but there is no other character in the game like Jose,” Eto’o was quoted saying in the Daily Mail.
“He is one of the best coaches in the world – and we had a lot of success together at Inter Milan. I would like to have the chance to play under him again – because it is never boring when Jose is around.
“Of course Chelsea are a great team – and when we have all the offers on the table then I will discuss with my agent and see what my next step is.”
He also hinted at a return to Italy, with Napoli also in line to for his signature, but his agent denied such speculations.
He said: “It’d be a dream for him to wear the jersey of a glorious club like Napoli. However, so far they have not contacted us”.
