Rodgers warns Real Madrid off Suarez

Brendan Rodgers Luis Suárez LiverpoolBrendan Rodgers has asked Real Madrid not to send in a bid for unsettled striker Luis Suarez.

The Liverpool manager made it clear that the transfer window is almost closed and they will not have enough time to get a replacement.

“It’s very difficult at this time [for a Suarez bid to succeed],” Rodgers said.

“We are trying to get one or two more quality players in through the door. If we lose Luis at this stage, it would be difficult to replace him.

“There might have been a point a few months ago when there was time to do it, but not with only 11 days to go.”
