Enyimba International added salt to Shooting Stars injury by picking up a draw in Ibadan on Wednesday, Enugu Rangers were forced to a one all draw in Akure by Sunshine Stars, Nembe City needed a point against Akwa United to brighten their hope of retaining their league status and they muscled it out in Uyo after a goalless draw against the Promise Keepers.
3SC 1-1 Enyimba
Shooting Stars are all but mathematically demoted from the Nigeria top flight after they forced Enyimba to a 1-1 draw at home on Wednesday. Andrew Abalogu had put the Aba Elephants ahead in the 56 minutes before Francis Edem cancelled the deficit via a spot kick in the 82nd minute. Enyimba now have 56 points from 34 league games while 3SC remained at the bottom of the table.
Sunshine Stars 1-1 Enugu Rangers
Chinedu Udeagha 39th minute effort gave the Flying Antelopes a decent away point in Akure. Phillip Auta drew level for the Akure Gunners on the 56th minute and that was how it ended with the result ensuring that Rangers picked her first point on the road in the second stanza of the NPFL this season.
Akwa United 0-0 Nembe City
Both teams had a share of the spoils as they failed to break the gridlock after 90 minutes of a fiercely contested game. Although the teams are still in the drop zone, Nembe City are 17th on the log with 46 points while Akwa United are 19th with 44 points. A win for City in their next home game could still change their league fortunes.
ABS 1-0 Nasarawa United
Akeem Audu’s goal shot Saraki Boys out of the drop zone when his 71st minute strike earned ABS FC maximum points. The homers are now one point ahead of the the Solid Miners who are placed 16th on the log with 46 points with an appreciable goals difference.
Lobi Stars 2-0 Gombe United
Eseosa Igbinoba and Suleiman Mohammed goal in each half of the game on Wednesday in Kastina-Ala pushed the Benue Army up the log as they won convincingly by 2-0. With that victory, Lobi Stars are off the relegation zone and have now amassed 49 points from 35 games.
Wikki Tourists 2-0 Kaduna United
The 2-0 win over the Crocodiles on Wednesday in Bauchi did not make any difference as Wikki remained 18th on the log with 45 points. Manu Ahmed and Usman Sani were the scorers for the home side.
Bayelsa United 1-0 Warri Wolves
The Restoration Boys on Wednesday restored themselves to the league summit after a 1-0 win over the Sea Siders. Azubuike Okechukwu was the match winner for the home team. Bayelsa United now have 58 points from 35 games.
Kano Pillars 2-0 Kwara United
The Sai Masu Gida were victorious in this fixture with a 2-0 win over Afonja Warriors. John Uche turned in Nasiru Alli cross into his own net five minutes into first half. Promise James sealed the victory for the Kano-based team in the 72nd minute to give Pillars a vital win. Kano Pillars currently sit fourth on the standings with 54 points from 34 league matches.
Sharks Fc 3-1 Heartland Fc
Jonah Abutu opened scoring for the Blue Angels in the 25th minute with a free kick. Stowe Thompson came off the bench to score the second before Isah Akor put one back for the Naze Millionaires four minutes after Thompson’s goal. Fortune Omaniwari then put the icing on the cake for Sharks in the concluding minute of the game with another superb freekick to end the game 3-1.
EL Kanemi 2-0 Dolphins Fc
EL Kanemi recorded a comfortable 2-0 win over the Pride of Rivers on thursday in Maiduguri to move second on the league standings with 57 points from 35 NPFL games.
