Halftimeng Premier League Team of Week 8

What a weekend of football with the added bonus of a Monday game between the biggest teams in the country for the biggest tie in the Premier League (not bothered with what the rest of the Off the Post crew on IFM923 will say). After a goal fest over the weekend we had a battling, resolute and tactical nil-nil draw on Monday; major praise to Eddie Howe and his Bournemouth Team for a six star performance as they put Hull City to the sword, Everton were not left out of the make Pep miserable party and Chelsea turned on the style against the Champions. With all this in mind, here’s my Premier League Team of Week 8; let me know what you think and special mention to Ander Herrera, the Basque dynamite has grown in leaps and bounds buttressed by his Man of the Match performance at Anfield.

  1. But why?? Two Man U players??? Habaaaaaaa. You are not being objective with this selection o. How’s Valencia at RB and no Kante in MF..

  2. Very good line up but i struggle to understand leaving out Kante for Herrera. Fine, Herrera was MOTM in a defensive performance by Man Utd. Kante was MOTM for his contributions in the offensive and defensive phases against the reigning EPL champions. His run and well weighted pass on the counter to Moses epitomized his all action performance. But here we are, putting Herrera in Team of the Week in a game that Utd had their lowest possession in history of the EPL. It is laughable really. Herrera has no business being here as a result of United parking the bus in a woeful and shameful and disgraceful performance. Thank you

    1. I will take the two comments from Jeff and Olu together. Now can you categorically state that Kante was the best midfielder on show for Chelsea this weekend? If he wasn’t; how would you expect him to make this selection. I knew the Valencia selection would raise a few eyebrows; can you mention a better RB in the Premier League this weekend?

  3. In addition, the fact that Herrera’s picture is the caption of this article smacks of favoritism and bias. Was he the best player of this last Epl round? Ridiculous that we have two Man Utd players in this line up. I sheathe my sword for now.
