The general consensus is that Chelsea Football Club need Five wins from their last seven matches to clinch the title; even though the title race has been made a little bit more interesting by Chelsea’s loss last weekend by Crystal Palace; the same Palace side put paid to Arsenal and their top four chances with potentially their best performance of the season. Big Sam has finally got things ticking at Selhurst Park as Palace gradually continue to move away from the relegation dog fight.
Along with Palace as the big performers of the Weekend are Tottenham Hotspurs who applied some pressure with an emphatic derby win of their own against Watford with Son Heung-Min, Dele Alli and Jan Vertonghen; the stand out players at White at Lane. At the Etihad; The Citizens continued their pursuit of a top four finish with a well deserved victory against Relegation battling, Hull City with the likes of Fabian Delph and John Stones the pick of the bunch.
Manchester United were able to get over their stalemate issues to score three goals and keep a clean sheet at relegation bound Sunderland. At Goodisson Park; Everton and Leicester served up the most electric first 30 minutes of the season with goals aplenty as Romelu Lukaku continue to stake a more than credible claim for the Golden Boot as a finished with a brace to rack up his tally to 23 goals so far this season.
In general; it was a great weekend with plenty of goals with the exception of Middlesbrough and Burnley; who served up a bore fest at the Riverside in a scoreless, uninspiring encounter. Here’s my team of the week selection in a 3-5-2 formation.
