A pulsating draw at the Etihad rounded up the second week of action in the Premier League with Wayne Rooney joining a truly exclusive club; the 200 Premier League Club, only Alan Shearer belongs to this elite band of Premier League goal scorers. Much of the talk this past weekend has been about the performance of Manchester United and their potential title credentials, it’s too early to draw conclusions with only two games in.
In London, the North side is not the best side as we speak; Tottenham continue their Wembly misery, which they need to snap out of quickly and well Arsenal remain Arsenal even though the referee may have had a big say in the Gunners not getting at least a draw from the Bet365 Stadium. The likes of West Brom and Huddersfield Town continue to enjoy the early days of the new season, whilst Newcastle and Brighton seem more like a return to the Championship is highly likely.
To my team of the week selection, it is headlined by the consistency of Mohammed Hegazi, who has taken to the Premier League seamlessly and for the second week running their is a place for players from Huddersfield Town and Manchester United.
Here’s my Week Two best performers from the Premier League in a 3-4-3 formation:
