The Nigeria Globalcom Professional Football League Game Week 26 will witness three top games as the two table toppers will be playing away from home. The League Champions, Kano Pillars will be doing battle with Sunshine Stars in Akure while Bayelsa United and Shooting Stars will face each other in a make or mar game for the Oluyole Warriors in Ibadan. The third top game will be Nembe City versus Warri Wolves in Yenegoa at Samson Siasia Stadium.
Three teams out of the basement teams will be playing at home, the Solid Miners, Heartland and 3SC will be playing at home respectively while Lobi Stars will be digging deep against a rejuvenating side, Sharks Fc, who seems to have being in great form lately, Nasarawa United must be careful to avoid a defeat as they play against high flying Afonja Warriors (Kwara United).
3SC vs BAYELSA UNITED
Ladan Bosso Boys were on rampage in the reverse fixture when they thrashed Shooting Stars by 3-1 in game week six of the first stanza of the league. The host must be very careful to avoid defeat, as defeat in this game will definitely deem their hopes of regaining top flight league status. Shooting Stars first choice goal keeper, Olaide Okanlahun will face a difficult task on Sunday because Bayelsa United have the arsenal to cause him a lot of discomfort; but I believe Olaide is up to the task.
ABS vs Wikki Tourists
It’s going to be survival of the fittest as both teams slug it out in Ilorin. Daniel Frimpong was the difference in the reverse fixture as his goal was all that the Tourists needed to record a win .Wikki Tourists and ABS Fc are on same on points on the table but the visitors are on 14th spot while the the host are on 15th position. The likes of Ichull Lordson, Stone Evbuomwan and Shola Otegbeye must do the needful if they are to take maximum points.
Sunshine Stars vs Kano Pillars
Akure Gunners will face an Herculean task on Sunday when they host league champions at the Akure Township Stadium. The first leg of the game ended by a single goal in favour of Kano Pillars courtesy of Alhaji Mohammed Alhaji goal. Going into this encounter, Sunshine Stars must do all within their power to earn the maximum points if they intend to keep their good run of form at home. The two Super Eagles players in the two side will definitely make a huge difference in this encounter, Rabiu Alli of Kano Pillars and Dele Olurundare of Sunshine Stars are the players to watch out for in this game among other.
Sharks vs Lobi Stars
This is indeed the wrong time for Dominic Iorfa Boys to play the Blue Angels. Sharks Fc moved out of the relegation zone on Wednesday when they came from behind to beat Dolphins Fc 1-2 in a Port Harcourt derby. They are now on a four game unbeaten run in the league, and I’m sure this game will extend the unbeaten streak of the Blue Angels. Lobi Stars won the reverse fixture by 2-0. Barnabas Imenger of Lobi Stars and Christian Pyagbara of Sharks Fc will bring their class to bear on proceedings when they meet on Sunday. The two players have scored two goals each in their last two league games.
Enyimba vs Kaduna United
Enyimba have gathered momentum lately, although they lost the reverse fixture by a lone goal in Kaduna as Peter Onaje goal made the difference in that encounter, but putting into consideration the current form of Enyimba International Fc and their home record so far, this game is going to be a smooth ride for them. The Aba Warriors have a chance of going top of the table if they can come out victorious in this game. Bishop Onyeudo, Rashidi Fabiyi and others will definitely get a good result from this match as they do battle with the Crocodiles on Sunday at Enyimba International Stadium.
NEMBE CITY vs Warri Wolves
This game is one the games to watch out for this weekend in the Nigeria Professional Football League. Nembe City wouldn’t want to lose three games on the bounce as they go into this match, having lost a point in the first leg when the game ended in one all draw, Warri Wolves will be looking forward to a decent result. Although Nembe City have lost one home game in their last four, Wolves can still spring up a surprise if they can take their chances.
Akwa United vs EL-KANEMI-WARRIORS
Justin Tenger side will not forget in a hurry how El-Kanemi beat them by 2-1 in the first leg, they will be looking for pay back. Mfon Udon and a couple others in the Akwa United team will be digging deep with the visitors on Sunday in Calabar while El-Kanemi will be banking on Raphael Bousong and Haruna Babalo to help them pick something tangible from this game, it’s going to be a difficult match for the Warriors because the homers have not lost in their last five home games.
Heartland Fc vs Dolphins
Both teams could not pick a point in their last game as they both lost the three maximum point. Dolphins Fc emerged victorious in the first leg after a 2-1 win over the Naze Millionaire’s.Heartland Fc are two places from the drop zone, a win for them will put them off the relegation zone, but the big question is will Dolphins Fc play three league games consecutively with out picking any point? Time will tell after 90 minutes of play right there at Dan Anyiam stadium in Owerri.
Rangers vs Gombe United
The Flying Antelope’s will host Gombe United at the Nnamdi Azikwe stadium this Sunday. The reverse encounter of this fixture ended in a 2-1 victory for the Savannah Scorpions as Bishop Onyeudo helped Gombe United to secure the home win when he netted twice. The two sides have played 25 games each but Gombe are ahead of Rangers on the league table with a point as they maintained the 7th spot with 37 points while Rangers are placed on the 8th position with 36 points. Gombe United in their last five games have failed to win any game away from home, it will be difficult for them to nick a point out of this one.
Nasarawa United vs Kwara United
The Solid Miners and the Afonja Warriors will be holding it down on Sunday at the Lafia township stadium. Nasarawa United were victors in the first leg when they stunned Kwara United 0-1 in Ilorin in front of their home fans as Leonard Ugochukwu strike earned the visitors the maximum point. It’s going to be a revenge game for the visitors if they can bank on their recent away form. And for Nasarawa United it is a must win for them, anything short of victory will threaten their hopes of retaining their league status as they are placed at the bottom of the table with 30 points from 25 games.
