We have reviewed happenings from the weekend analytically and we have come up with the team of the weekend (Best XI and Manager). Do you agree or disagree? Hit us up folks…
Goalkeeper: Stoke City’s Asmir Begovic : He had a great game against West Brom, made quite a handful of excellent saves and ensuring that his team will have a valuable draw.
Right-back: It had to come from one of the decent players from the Saints over the weekend, Nathaniel Clyne . He’s been one of the key reasons why the Saints have conceded just three goals and he produced a commanding display against Manchester United at Old Trafford to earn his team a vital draw.
Centre-back: Another Saint performer, Dejan Lovren. No enough room for Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney to operate. He was very instrumental to the goal scored.
Centre-back: Swansea’s Chico Flores – Halted whatever missile Sunderland threw at the defense.
Left-back: Jan Vertonghen – Good performance against Aston Villa at Villa Park.
Right midfield: Andros Townsend – What more can be said about this young man within a week? Fine display on the international scene, bagged a new four-year deal at White Hart Lane. His pace and skill is currently working for him.
Centre midfield: More accolades should go to Southampton’s Manager Pochettino as another Saint makes our list, Morgan Schneiderlin – Great display at Old Trafford.
Centre midfield: Only one word to describe him- CONSISTENT. Mesut Ozil – Commanding display, bagged a brace also.
Left midfield: Eden Hazard – The Belgian put up what can be described as his “Personal Best” so far this season.
Striker: He’s got to be in, Samuel Eto’o
Striker: Sergio Aguero – Would join Eto’o in the attacking position. Scored two goals and sets up the third in Mancherster City’s 3-1 win over West Ham.
Manager: Mauricio Pochettino – The Man who manages the SAINTS. Against Manchester Unite at Old Trafford, he was spot on tactically, he also played attractive football and his team was difficult to break at the back.
