Chelsea and Man Utd after Sevilla youngster

Both clubs have identified Alberto Moreno as a perfect replacement for their aging left backs, namely Ashley Cole and Evra.

Reports in Spain claim the Old Trafford outfit are scouting around for alternatives to Leighton Baines as doubt remain over whether he can be seen as a long-term solution at the age of 28.

Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido has made it clear Moreno will not be allowed to leave unless his £25m release clause is met, with United trying to decide if the deal represents good value for the club.Chelsea meanwhile are readying a bid thought to be over £20m for the starlet, who is also still eligible to play in this season’s Champions League.

Roman Abramovich is thought to be ready to spend big to land a solid solution to the phasing out of Cole and will look to bring Moreno to Stamford Bridge in the New Year.

Evra has spoken recently about his feelings towards his United deal running out, revealing the club were keen to retain his services but he wasn’t going to rush into any decision. He said earlier this week: “No, not at all.

“It is a personal thing. It is not that Manchester United do not want me to sign a new contract.

“Manchester United would like me to finish my career there, but this is something personal.”
